Fuel your Dream; forget the fears

“Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird, That cannot fly.”
― Langston Hughes We all have dreams. Few dreams come true while most of them die along the way. Why are we letting them die? If we are to believe William Arthur Ward, the famous American writer, every dream can be achieved. “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.” So, what makes us put our dreams on deathbed? Standing firm for the sake of our dream is a big deal but are we fueling it? Are we doing what it takes to grab every opportunity we encounter on our journey? When we were kids, we were free of worries and had a little brain full of dreams. Every day, we used to find a new thing to do, new dream to achieve. I still hear myself loud when I used to tell, ‘I want to be ____________ when I grow up.’ As if everything I dreamed would come true. But there was only hope and desire. There was no fear or doubt about anything. I knew no obstacles, no worries, or any complexities. All I thought was being what I dreamt of.
That was what we thought when we were kids. But aren’t we lacking the same mindset as a grown up? As we grew up, we started to meet obstacles on our way to our dreams. As a result, we developed fear within us. And that very fear hindered our path to the glory as we could not work with our full potentiality. Moreover, we built a fence ourselves between us and our dreams. We drew boundaries and set limits to our limitless glory. As a grown up, we let negative influences to be in the driver’s seat of our life. Thus, we kept going there where our pessimism took us. And that’s not a very good place to be at.
“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist. Stepping out and taking risks is a big deal and it needs to be protected from naysayers and doubters. First we should simply believe in ourselves and gather the courage. We can overcome our fears. We can challenge our hurdles. All we have to do is wash our minds with optimism and lift the self-made restrictions to our goal. Fears = No action = no results. So why not take the actions now and protect our dreams? Let go all the negativities such as fear, doubts and worries and believe in your dreams. Only when we believe in our dreams, we unlock our aspirations trapped by certain fears and disbeliefs. Hold on to your dreams before it is too late. In the end, give yourself two choices. Fuel your dreams or fuel your fear. Life is all about choices you make. “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” ―Eleanor Roosevelt
